Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You'll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It's a quick-prepare soup that's just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.
We talked to Rob B from IL about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:
Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Rob B: The broth was much more spicy than expected however i adjusted quickly and enjoyed the heat. I expected the noodles to be overdone and mushy, quite to my surprise the noodles had substance and a very good texture for noodles microwaved in a cup! Overall the broth was full flavored and the noodles just right so that I was completely satisfied with this cup as a meal!
“I was completely satisfied with this cup as a meal!”
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Rob B: While I was surprised at the amount of other (non-noodle) ingredients I would add more vegetables to enhance the nutritional value of the cup so it could be a meal. I would also use this with takeout sushi as a soup appetizer for a fraction of the restaurant price!
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Rob B: The broth was the most full flavor I have tried in these type of bowls/cups. By adding some veggies this is the first ramen cup that could serve as a meal for me. Finally I could use this ramen as an appetizer for take away sushi saving alot of money.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Rob B: I just heated water in my tea kettle very quickly. This is a simple, quick, easy and reasonably healthy meal on the go.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Rob B: This ramen is surprisingly spicy, I would rate it a 7 compared to other similar ramen cups. If you like a full flavor adian heat (not just alot of hot sauce) you will enjoy this ramen!
