Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You'll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It's a quick-prepare soup that's just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.
We talked to Lamont H from CT about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:
Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Lamont H: I have to say the spice was just right and not too much. The noodles felt creamy but not too soft. The broth warmed me with hints of soy and vegetables. Not a huge fan of mushrooms but these were small enough to enjoy. Together with the noodles I enjoyed the flavor of heat from the broth and melting noodles. Would definitely purchase again.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Lamont H: You can always enhance by having different flavors. I would add shrimp to make the seafood flavor pop. Also could have one or two options on packaging for options like adding peas for example.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Lamont H: I like the convenience that it already comes prepared in a cup. Additionally, simple instructions are on the side for microwave or using hot water to serve. With some others you need to find a container to place and prepare the ramen.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Lamont H: I prepared mine using the microwave. I could have let it sit but knowing exactly how long to it takes to cook allows me the freedoms to take care of other things. The self prepared cup makes a difference.
“The broth warmed me with hints of soy and vegetables.”
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Lamont H: The spice is just enough but not too overwhelming. Even if you don't like heat this product will make you think again. The heat comes from the broth and flavor so you can enjoy without your mouth burning.
