Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You'll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It's a quick-prepare soup that's just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.
We talked to Shane L. from AL about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:
Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Shane L.: After cooking this product, the broth had that unique taste to give it the spicy edge and makes it stand out from the other products on the shelves. The noodles were nicely cooked and made a compliment to the broth and the vegetables that were included inside the product. The vegetables were a nice addition to this product in that they gave it a more authentic oriental flavor instead of just noodles and water. Overall, this product is most certainly delicious and will be buying it again to use in lunch for work and school.
“ Overall, this product is most certainly delicious.”
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Shane L.: This Shin Cup is a notable snack and should go great with any beverage that counteracts the deliciously spice that comes with this product. If anything else, maybe some crackers or something salty to help the broth settle better in the stomach and to prevent any acid reflux from occurring because of the spicy flavor of this product. This product would be a great addition to a traditional Japanese Hibachi meal that you could make at home or rather having take-out.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Shane L.: This Shin Cup had a deliciously spicy taste that beats the other competition straight out of the market. It differs in that other ramen noodles just look like water and noodles, but the Shin Cup's noodles blend together with the broth and the texture is far none to other products. Also, it is easier to eat than the other ramens because it comes in a Shin Cup instead of a tray.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Shane L.: I prepared the Shin Cup at home in the microwave for three minutes on the high setting. This was easy preparing it since all I had to do was add water and the base pack that comes with it. Also, this Shin Cup is very friendly for on-the-go meals that I would use at school and work.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Shane L.: The heat is somewhat intense, but its delicious taste makes it worth it to endure the spiciness. If you're a fan of spicy food, then this is the one for you!
