Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You'll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It's a quick-prepare soup that's just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Jim D. from UT about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Jim D.:  The broth has a nice spicy kick to it, but not so much that it is overwhelming the flavor, which is quite good. The mushrooms added a nice subtle taste to the broth. The noodles, when cooked for the specified time, have a texture that is not too hard or too soft. The noodles and the broth complement each other well. This is certainly a step up in quality to top ramen.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Jim D.:  I would add some cooked egg, or a thin slice of cooked pork to give it more substance.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Jim D.:  I liked the improved quality in the noodle texture over top ramen. I also like the balance between spicy kick and flavor.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Jim D.:  I prepared it using the first method on the package, which was boiling water and letting it sit for 3 minutes. This was convenient at home, since clean up is kept at a minimum. On the go might be easier with the microwave method.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Jim D.:  It's got a kick, and is not for those who don't like a good level of spice. However, the spice does not overpower the delicious flavor.
“ I also like the balance between spicy kick and flavor.”
