Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You'll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It's a quick-prepare soup that's just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.
We talked to Mike A from CT about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:
Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Mike A: I first tasted a medium spicy note in the broth. I detected hints of chili and slight red pepper. I liked the texture of the noodles and found them tender without being mushy. They were thinner than I expected, but I enjoy the longer noodles. The noodles mixed well with the broth and they were pretty well covered.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Mike A: I would add some thin cut beef or sliced chicken breast to make a bit more filling. I could also consider adding these noodles to a homemade hot and sour broth.
“I would recommend to fans of hot and spicy.”
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Mike A: I liked the noodle texture over most other hard noodles I tried in the same category. It is spicier than most other brands. I enjoyed the little dried mushrooms as pretty unique and different.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Mike A: I was very pleased with the prep. I like that there was just one packet and it was easy to open. No mess and the cup was the right size for a on the go product. Pretty nice that can be microwaved or quick done with boiling water.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Mike A: I would say a 7 out of 10 on the spice level. I would recommend to fans of hot and spicy, but might be too much for non-fans.
