We talked to Clinton H from MO about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:
Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Clinton H: When taking the first bite you notice the beef and mushrooms right away. Then comes hints of chili pepper, onion and a touch of black pepper. The noodles and soft and delicate, but not mushy. If I had to describe the taste it would have to be a perfect mix of spicy and savory flavors.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Clinton H: The addition of some grilled shrimp and wasabi would really kick off this dish. I feel this would be a perfect combination of Surf and turf and the extra heat from the wasabi would really add that final touch.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Clinton H: The texture of the noodles were by far the best part of Shin Cup noodles. When it comes to most other brands they tend to fall a little flat when it comes to there noodles. They tend to be overly mushy or crunchy, but these noodles were just right.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Clinton H: I followed the microwave instructions on the side of the package. The packaged instructions were really easy to understand and only took a couple minutes to prepare. I feel anyone looking for a quick meal will have no problem making this.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Clinton H: I would describe the heat and spiciness as mild to moderately spicy, but not overwhelming. If you can handle jalapenos, you can handle this!
