Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You'll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It's a quick-prepare soup that's just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.
We talked to Bruce M. from WI about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:
Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Bruce M.: The broth if this soup is extra spicy, and you can taste a kimchi type flavor. The noodles are thinner and maintain their firmness well.
“This is a good meal solution for someone on the go.”
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Bruce M.: When eating noodles of this type, I like to enhance it by adding protein such as tuna, sausage, or cocktail shrimp. Sometimes, I also enjoy adding American, mozzarella, or parmesan cheese. Also, I will often compliment the soup with a firm bread such as a baguette to soak up the broth.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Bruce M.: I actually eat this brand of packaged soup often. The noodles in the cup are thinner, and the broth was not as potent, but this was still very tasty. I would choose this cup over many of the more common brands. I enjoy the spicy broth and kimchi flavor that isn't available in other cups I am familiar with!
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Bruce M.: This was very easy to prepare. I chose to use a kettle on the stove to add hot water to the cup, but the microwave method would have been a little bit more convenient and quicker. This is a good meal solution for someone on the go.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Bruce M.: I would recommend this soup to someone who enjoys spicy foods. I really enjoy the spice and heat, but this is too hot for most people in my opinion.
