Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You'll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It's a quick-prepare soup that's just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.

We talked to Troy H. from AL about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:

Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Troy H.:  The broth is unusually spicy for these type of quick fix meals. It has plenty of heat with undertones of green onion. It almost has a Chinese red pepper flavor to it. The noodles have a the same basic taste as any other ramen type noodle. With the broth it's very tasty. Without it they are just kind of bland.
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Troy H.:  Even though it is a noodle product, I would consider making this and serving it over rice for an Asian gumbo with shrimp added to it. I would also saute or blacken shrimp and add to it on its own. The product could be very versatile depending on the either meat or vegetable additions.
“It is a welcome change to some of the more bland ramen choices.”

Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Troy H.:  The flavor of the Shin Cup is outstanding. The heat and flavor of the broth hit immediately. Even though it is spicy, the heat doesn't linger. It is a welcome change to some of the more bland ramen choices.
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Troy H.:  I microwaved my Shin cup. I thought it was easy to make, but I think the line in the cup needs to be more visible.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Troy H.:  The Shin Cup brings a burst of heat and spiciness that is a welcome addition to the ramen category. This is a great change of pace from the ordinary ramen that's available.
