Deliciously spicy and perfectly affordable, the Nongshim Shin Cup is an ideal pick for on-the-go eating. You'll love the bright, satisfying heat and mix of flavors in this gourmet ramen. It's a quick-prepare soup that's just as good at home (with extras like a cracked egg and veggies) as it is on your lunch break (ready in a flash). All you have to do is wait for 3 minutes — stir well + serve. These shin cups are versatile and so simple to make.
We talked to Mario G. from OR about Nongshim and here's what he had to say:
Q: Describe the different flavor notes that you taste in the broth, the texture of the noodles, and overall taste of the noodles in the broth.
Mario G.: Shin noodle soup has a very bold, spicy flavor, and the consistency of the silky noodles from start to finish is excellent and the whole dish is well balanced. The highlight of this noodle soup is the broth. It's definitely the spiciest, yet most flavorful of the instant noodle soups I've had. Finally a dish that means it when it says spicy!
Q: How would you choose to enhance your mealtime experience of the Shin Cup (e.g. what would you add to it, or what recipes would you make with it)?
Mario G.: Adding some chicken, shrimp or sliced beef would certainly enhance this dish. Also the addition of some thawed frozen peas, thinly sliced cabbage and bento flakes would be great at home additions to this noodle soup.
Q: What did you like most about the Shin Cup, and how does it differ from other ramen you’ve tried?
Mario G.: This was surprisingly the most spicy of all the instant noodle soups that I have tried and was happy to find a product that means spicy when it says that it is. The price was on target with other items in this class and I would certainly say that as a whole the preparation, price and taste puts this noodle soup at the top of the pack.
“It's definitely the spiciest, yet most flavorful of the instant noodle soups I've had.”
Q: Describe how you prepared the Shin Cup, the level of convenience in preparing it, and your thoughts on its ease of preparation on-the-go.
Mario G.: Preparing the noodle soup was quick and easy. I used the microwave method for prep and in 3 minutes and about 45 seconds of letting the soup rest I was enjoying a bold delicious spicy noodle soup.
Q: If you were recommending this product to someone else, how would you describe the level of heat and general spiciness?
Mario G.: Very bold spicy and flavorful broth that is well balanced so you don't have all heat that destroys or is overpowered by just heat.
