Happy Chickens Make Happy Eggs

In Partnership with Happy Egg Co.

We talked to Jarrod from NV and here’s what he had to say:

Q
What’s your favorite way to prepare Happy Eggs?

A
My favorite way to prepare eggs is to scramble them. I really love a good country skillet styled scramble with Bell peppers, onions and green tomatoes. I usually add a lil turkey sausage and potatoes if they are readily available depending on how much prep time I have to spend. Served up with a hearty slice of French Texas toast, English muffin or toasted sourdough and a tall glass of orange and apple cranberry juice; it’s a great anytime meal that’s not just for breakfast.
Q
The new year is the perfect time to try new things. What Happy Egg Co. recipe will you try?

A
The Deviled Eggs recipe is the one I’d most like to try. I love serving friends and family on special occasions and deviled eggs is always one of the snacks I like to try different varieties of. It’s a great protein alternative for those who don’t eat animal muscle and there are so many different varieties of the filler, that it’s literally as if you are making a unique dish every time you serve them.
Q
Happy Egg Hens are pasture raised with over 8 acres of outdoor space to run + play. What do you think of Happy Eggs high animal welfare standards?

A
I think the idea of free range is great for Inns that lay eggs for consumption. I grew up on a farm and collected eggs from chicken coops firsthand. So I know the difference and eggs from healthy happy chickens and those bought from the store that were produced by chickens trapped in cages and fed laying feed. I only buy eggs from free-range chickens. I’d only do they always appear larger and harder, they same to have a distinct taste, much more flavorful.
Q
What do you think of Happy Egg’s choice to raise their hens on small family farms, in support of family farmers?

A
People have to eat in every culture all around the world. A strong Community is one that is closely connected to its food production. Supporting local farmers and food producers is paramount to the economic survival of any thriving Society. It’s delightful to see Happy Egg supporting family farms, encouraging local businesses and strengthening the economy on a micro scale.

I really enjoyed the delicious guilt free eggs from the happy chickens at Happy Eggs.
