Alaskans Love Humane Chickens

In Partnership with Happy Egg Co.

We talked to Travis from AK and here’s what he had to say:

Q
Tell us what you made with your Happy Eggs!

A
I scrambled some, I fried some, and I boiled some. They tasted the same as any other egg that I’ve prepared in the same manner. I chose 3 different methods of preparation to make sure I got the fullest flavor experience I could think of in order to provide the most informed opinions possible.
Q
How do you feel about The Happy Egg Co.’s commitment to hen welfare?

A
I think their treatment of chickens is great! I’ve seen a documentary on Netflix that showed how animals are raised and the treatment of chickens was especially disturbing. So even though I couldn’t taste the difference and they are more expensive than other eggs, I would buy this brand over others just because they treat the chickens in a humane manner.
Q
Get creative! What yummy summer recipe would you choose to incorporate Happy Eggs with?

A
I love mixing boiled eggs with tuna salad for sandwiches and will make this recipe for my kids and their cousins next Sunday when we have our next family meal.
Q
Happy Egg Hens spend their days doing things they love [like perching, foraging + dust bathing]. What are some of your favorite things to do with family + friends?

A
A day at the beach or hiking are my family’s favorite activities but in the winter we also like to go skiing and snowboarding. These are fun and easy ways to get necessary exercise, get the kids away from video games and TV while bringing us closer together and it’s fairly inexpensive.
