When Fruit Meets Dressing, You Find a Blessing

In Partnership with Bitten

Sweet or Tart? We talked to Quanted from MI about his recent experience trying the new Bitten Salad Dressing flavors -- Strawberry and Lemon Poppy Seed. Read below to see what he had to say.

“I like the fact that the strawberry blended so well as a dressing when it's such a sweet fruit. The lemon poppy seed didn't have a strong enough lemon poppy seed taste; it sort of just tasted like Caesar. If I had to choose between the two for my salad, I would most definitely go with the creamy strawberry because it blended well and it wasn't like an overbearing sweet taste.”

“I found the creamy strawberry to be more bite-worthy because it tastes as good as it looks and as good as it sounds. I like the approach that Bitten has taken on the fruity dressing taste. I just wouldn't prefer it in my salad because I look for a more salt-based dressing like ranch when it comes to my taste buds.”

“I would keep it as a dressing in a more fruit-implemented salad like a salad with raisins, walnuts, or even grapes or mandarins. I would much rather taste it as a dressing instead of a dip because I'm more of a big dipper, meaning that when I dip, I dip, and I wouldn't want that much of this kinda dressing as a dip.”

“It was definitely a very unexpected first-time experience as I never thought about mixing fruit with dressing. It took two completely different foods/fruits and found a way to beautifully blend them both and not let one overpower the other. But like I said before, I aim for salt over sweet when it comes to my dressings, especially if it's going on a salad. I was skeptical and excited to try this dressing, and I wasn't disappointed at all.”
If you don't mind living on the edge for a moment and trying something that should have been invented a long time ago, then give Bitten fruity dressings a try. You won't be disappointed.
